Fill the pot with a good quality potting mix that drains well making sure to moisten it before planting. You can use a cactus mix or potting soil mixed with added perlite. Gently place the plant in the pot. Fill the sides loosely to the original soil level. Tamp the soil gently. Keep the newly planted Epiphyllum moist. When planting a cutting, let them harden for one week before you plant. Place the cutting, growing end down into the soil. Good cactus care indoors means paying careful attention to the amount of water you give it. Cactus plants don’t need water that often. Always check that the soil is dry before watering. A little bit of water (less than half a cup) every week or two is enough during the summer and every month during the winter.At the end of winter every 3 or 4 years, repot your zebra cactus plant in a slightly larger pot than the current one, with a mixture of sand and soil. Cover the root node, but do not let the leaves touch the soil. Put the root node of the zebra cactus plant just above the soil surface! Do not water for the first few days after repotting: roots
